Privacy policy

Last updated: 31 October 2026

Journal Health API is a private application run by its owner for the members of one household. This policy describes how it handles the data it reads from Google.

Data accessed

With each member's consent, the application reads these categories from the Google Health API: activity and fitness (steps and exercise sessions), health metrics and measurements (weight and body composition), and sleep. It requests read-only access and never writes to a Google account.

How the data is used

The data is used only to write a daily summary into that member's own private journal and training notes, and to show that member their own trends over time. It is not used for any other purpose.

Where the data is stored

All data is stored on a server owned and operated by the application's owner, inside the household. It is not uploaded to any cloud service and is not shared with, sold to, or transferred to any third party.

Google API Services User Data Policy

The application's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is not used for advertising, is not sold, and is not transferred to others except as needed to operate the application for the member who connected their account.

Retention and deletion

Pulled data is kept for as long as the member keeps their account connected. A member can revoke access at any time from their Google Account under Security → Third-party apps with account access, and can ask the owner to delete stored data, which will be done promptly.

Contact

Questions about this policy go to the application's owner, whose contact address is shown on the Google consent screen for this application.
